Carmel School, was opened on 23rd of June 1958 by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel, an indigenus educational body of wide and long experience.

Carmel School, Bhagalpur, is a Senior Secondary School, situated in Bhagalpur District and administered by the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society of Bihar, in the Roman Catholic Church. The School is under the religious jurisdiction of the Catholic Bishop of Bhagalpur.

This School though, a Catholic school, is open to girls of all castes and creed. It is recognized and empowered by the ICSE Council, New Delhi, to prepare students for the ISC Examination.
